Sunrun Case Study
SUNRUN

Advising America’s Largest Home Solar Provider on How to Prepare for the Future

THE PROBLEM:

Policies and regulations that were appropriate at the start of an industry adjust over time. Clean energy technologies are at various stages of maturity and those that came first, like rooftop solar, are also among the first to see changes to their core incentive structures and tariffs. Navigating a changing policy and political landscape is challenging especially when changes impact customers in real-time. Sunrun came to Caliber during the height of the pandemic, seeking guidance, expertise and strategy on everything from COVID essential worker exemptions to solar for low-income communities to net energy metering.

THE CLIENT:

Sunrun is the nation’s leading home solar, battery storage, and energy services company.

THE SOLUTION:

Caliber is integrated with various teams at Sunrun to provide expertise and strategy as Sunrun transitions from a solar company to a whole home electrification and distributed energy resource provider. Working together, Caliber helps prepare Sunrun for a future that provides solar to all people regardless of income and helps turn homes into real-time grid assets.
